Agents


Neil Olson has been with the agency since 1987. He represents mainstream literary and commercial fiction, and nonfiction in the areas of history, biography and science/nature. Some of his clients include National Book Award winners Robert Stone and Peter Matthiessen, and the Estate of Mario Puzo.


Edward Hibbert began working at the agency in 1989. His clients include bestseller Chuck Palahniuk, Christopher Bram, Ed Sikov and Marc Acito. Additionally, he has represented film rights on such titles as FIGHT CLUB, CHOKE, GODS AND MONSTERS, OSCAR WILDE and HOW I PAID FOR COLLEGE. He represents literary and commercial fiction and non-fiction such as biography and the performing arts.


Carrie Howland joined Donadio and Olson in 2005. In addition to her own clients, she handles both first serial and audio rights for the agency, as well as working with foreign rights and permissions. We’re Looking For Interns!


The intern’s duties include reading manuscripts, writing reader’s reports and rejection letters, handling permissions requests and contracts, filing contracts and general correspondence, sending manuscripts to publishers (both foreign and domestic), updating our blog and Twitter accounts, answering telephone and email requests, and other office duties. Interns play a critical role at Donadio, are involved in all aspects of the office’s work, and are encouraged to take on challenging projects. This internship is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in publishing to learn about many different aspects of the industry.


The ideal candidate will have a strong literary background. Ideally, the candidate will have taken courses in both literature and creative writing. Prior experience in a publishing house or at a literary agency is helpful, but not required.
