Volunteering is a great way to help. We invite you to share the power of a wish® whether you can give a few hours each month or a few days each year.
The Foundation offers a volunteer position for every time and talent. Move your cursor over the opportunities below to see some examples. Check all that apply.
NOTE: Volunteer opportunities and availability vary by local chapter. A background check will also be conducted.
Offer your TIME & TALENTS in some of our critical areas:
- Committee MemberBoard members guide chapters in delivering our mission. It's a great role for community leaders who want to share the power of a wish®.
- Event/Fundraiser Planning & AssistanceFundraising events help the Foundation raise the money to grant wishes. Volunteer to help us plan and execute these important events.
- Language Interpreters/TranslatorsSome wish children and their families need help in their native language to understand the process of a wish. We have listed the most commonly needed languages, and invite you to volunteer if you speak one or more fluently.
- Office HelpLike any workplace, office helpers play a key role at Make-A-Wish® chapters. Click to see how you can lend your abilities.
- Professional ServicesCan you take a great photo? Build a playhouse? Install a home theater? Then you can delight a wish kid. Click to see skills that help grant wishes and pick your best talent!
- Public Speaking/Advocacy & PromotionIf you love the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and giving a good speech, then you could spread the word about our work at community meetings and events.
- Wish GrantingOur magical wish granters bring wishes -- and joy -- to life. Wish granting requires training and orientations to enable our volunteers to grant a child's most heartfelt wish. This position requires a significant time commitment.
