AIR FARCE IS BACK, AND WE'RE DOING IT GANGNAM STYLE!
Canada’s favourite year-end tradition continues when AIR FARCE NEW YEAR’S EVE returns to CBC Television, Monday, December 31, 2012 at 8:00 PM (8:30 NT).
Don Ferguson, Luba Goy, Craig Lauzon, Alan Park, Penelope Corrin, and the newest AIR FARCE recruit, Arnold Pinnock, send up the highs and lows of 2012 with an hour filled with plenty of laughs, lots of surprises, and the annual dropping of the F-Bomb on Canada's biggest pet peeves.
As usual, joining the AIR FARCE cast is a stellar line-up of special guests!
From the world of sports, hockey hero Paul Henderson celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series, while Olympic gold-medal trampolinist Rosie MacLennan hits new heights right in our own CBC studio.
We also have platinum recording artist Victoria Duffield (“Shut Up and Dance”) offering a fan’s take on the NHL lockout; the star of Murdoch Mysteries, Yannick Bisson, using his own persuasive methods to solve one of the year’s top mysteries; and The Wealthy Barber-turned-Dragons’ Den star, David Chilton, teaming up President Obama to solve the U.S. financial crisis.
Meanwhile, Canada’s boyfriend, George Stroumboulopoulos, dances his way into a special cameo, and CBC’s chief meteorologist, Claire Martin, forecasts some big laughs.
As always, AIR FARCE takes on the year’s biggest stories, from the re-emergence of the PQ in Quebec to the disappearance of the hockey season, from the lighter-and-skinnier iPhone 5 to the scandals-and-carousals of the Royal Family. We’ve also got Rob Ford’s media rehab, a political “50 Shades of Grey” makeover, and our Prime Minister’s version of the world’s most-viewed viral video ever, Gangnam Style … plus lots more in this fast-paced hour from last year’s highest-rated CBC comedy special.
And in the grand finale, we’ll drop a few F-Bombs on the most worthy targets of 2012 in AIR FARCE’s long-standing tradition of blasting viewer’s suggestions with the messiest ammunition imaginable. (Don’t worry, our studio audience was given plastic to keep themselves dry!)

AIR FARCE: 40 YEARS OF FLYING BY THE SEAT OF OUR PANTS is the long-awaited, much-anticipated history of Air Farce. It’s a beautiful, 268-page, hardcover book, with tons of pictures.
Air Farce was a staple of CBC television for over fifteen years, with diehard fans numbering in the millions. Written by founding members Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson, this candid memoir, full of anecdotes, photographs, scripts, and other memorabilia from their private collection, describes every aspect of their early days as an onstage comedy troupe, their historic run on radio, and their spectacular success on prime-time television.
The book also features interviews with key players in the Air Farce story conducted by Bill Brioux, TV journalist, blogger, author, and longtime Farce afficionado.
With contributions from many of their longtime friends and collaborators, including veteran Farceur Dave Broadfoot, the book takes readers behind the scenes, and on stage, into the day-to-day creative vortex of one of the most popular comedy shows in the history of Canadian television.
