In this symposium leading scholars and human rights activists from Turkey and the UK will address the current state of the freedoms of thought, conscience, religion and expression in Turkey, ten years since the first government of the AKP and seven years after the start of accession negotiations with the European Union.

Applications are invited for the A.G. Leventis Visiting Fellowship at SEESOX, St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, for the academic year 2013/14. The fellowship is intended to support scholarship related to contemporary Greek Studies in the College’s areas of interest: Anthropology, Economics, International Relations, Modern History, Politics, Social Policy and Sociology.
