Careers

Careers

For many students the job search is a major part of their MBA. At Tuck we are proud of our students’ success in this area, and we can measure this success in a number of ways. For instance, each year, every first year student is successful in finding an internship; and for the past two years, 97% of the graduating class has had an offer within three months of graduation.

When you are thinking about the job search, you need to know that you’ll have access to the companies you want to work for, and that you’ll be prepared for success in the interview itself.

Our relationships with traditional recruiters of MBA talent cover all of the ‘brand names’ you’d expect from a top business school, and approximately half our students find their job through these relationships. The other half of students seek their jobs in diverse fields, including education, nonprofit, entrepreneurship, and many more.

Our programs for preparing students for interview success are rigorous, and we bring all of Tuck’s resources to help students achieve that success.

Our Career Development Office is consistently recognized as one of the leaders in its field. We have a high ratio of career development counselors to students, and all of our counselors have experience in their respective industries. Counselors are available to students at any time for guidance, tactical advice and training.

Tuck alumni are renowned for their willingness to help students. For some this means frequent visits to Tuck to talk about their company, host an informal networking event, or interview students. For many it means picking up the phone, or answering an email, to give a student 30 minutes of their time. It also means getting involved in recruiting discussions at the leadership levels, to ensure that Tuck remains a core school for the company.

Tuck’s academic curriculum, faculty, research centers, and initiatives are also integral to the career success of many students. For some students it’s a particular class that gives them access to cutting-edge thinking in their target industry.  For others it’s the open access to professors that yields a promising lead. By the time that Tuck students graduate, many cite the full Tuck experience when describing what has led to their job-search success.
