About TMIS

ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (ACM TMIS) is a scholarly journal, issued quarterly, that publishes the highest quality papers about the design, development, assessment, and management of information technology and systems within organizations, businesses, and societies. We are actively soliciting papers from the international MIS research community. The inaugural issue of ACM TMIS was published in December 2010; see the inaugural issue through the ACM Digital Library.

In addition to traditional management and behavioral MIS research, ACM TMIS strongly encourages submissions of high-quality system and design science research, as well as submissions in emerging MIS multidisciplinary research topics that may span several traditional academic disciplines.

Papers are submitted through the ScholarOne Manuscript Central system. For information on submissions, first read through the Editorial Guidelines, then see the Author Information. When submitting, select "Original Paper" or "Special Issue" as appropriate.

Note that author meetings and/or receptions are held at ICIS and AMCIS meetings as time permits. These meetings are open to anyone with a potential interest in submitting to TMIS or to finding out more information.

Funding for support for TMIS has been generously provided by the Management Information Sytems Department, and by the Eller College of Management, both of The University of Arizona. The Association for Computing Machinery is also generous in its support of its new journals. The editorial team wishes especially to thank Mr. Jono Hardjowirogo at ACM for his assistance in establishing our procedures and infrastructure.

"ACM-TMIS should aspire to attain the status of a top IS journal quickly." -- Dr. John L. King, Professor and Vice Provost, University of Michigan

"The journal, ACM TMIS, has the potential to be the leading journal in the field with the balance of technology, behavior and management, within five years.  This is the right time to add a top tier journal to the field of MIS." -- Professor Jay F. Nunamaker, University of Arizona
