Mother Stories

Mother Stories from the heart of a Mother!

There is a gift we as mothers have to share.  We have endured painful times and felt joy so deep it has entrenched our hearts.  We have experienced the awe of childbirth and witnessed the incredible journey of life in which our children have been given.  We have a gift.  I will call them “Mother Stories”.  It’s simple….we are mothers, and we have the most powerful job in the human race.  We not only live our lives with sacrifice and burden, but with triumph and exaltation.  Our children are a part of us as we forge on in our relentless world of the motherhood adventure of a lifetime!

The one piece of our existence is our mother stories that we share, as they bind us together into friendships as unique as our children.  We impulsively and naturally share our mother stories because they are in part, who we are.  When I share a mother story about one of my kids, I am reaching out to another mom in hopes to either inspire them or connect with them in some way.  They will often share a mother story of their own, in return.  Therein lies the bond.  Set and grounded in the amazing and powerful motherhood world we as only mothers can live in.  It’s a sisterhood.  It doesn’t matter if the mother you share with is a relative, a friend or even a stranger.  Some of my best heard mother stories have come from complete strangers in the doctor’s office or grocery store as they reach out in compassion or share in need of support.  It’s these mother stories that always linger in my heart as I think about my “passing” new mom friend for days after the encounter.

It’s such a beautiful thing, isn’t it? The way we can so naturally share and relate to each other simply because we discover we are mothers.  There are moments I wish I could reach out to all you moms out there that need an ear to listen to your mother stories.  There are times when I so desperately need an ear to hear my own mother stories.  It’s the link that needs no qualifications other than simply having a child.  There is no discrimination here.  No other educational degrees, fashion statements, or career choices necessary.  Do you have a child?  You’re IN!

If only being a mother were that easy!  Would you like to read my own mother stories while you are here?  I would love to share them with you, in hopes to encourage and inspire you with some humor and quite frankly, some tears.  There are all kinds of action packed mother stories in my blog!  There are some gut wrenching agonizing mother stories as well.  As you know, mother stories can be both painful and hilarious.  Both so treasured and so important to share!  I would love for you to visit me at the café and share in my mother stories, and I invite you to share some of your treasured mother stories with me!  Can we meet at the café?  Would sure love your company! Could you use mine?
