Today the world is incredibly loud and complicated.

It seems as though we can’t go anywhere or do anything without being pounded by stimulation of some kind. Emails, Instagram photos, text messages, phone calls, and tweets, all fill up our days between working or studying and attempting to create and find happiness in our lives.

Fortunately brilliant author and a close friend of mine, Matthew E May, has just published a new book that emphasis why we need to remove certain elements from our lives to de-emphasis the noise and get back to making.

The book is called The Laws of Subtraction and I’ve been lucky enough to read through a few of the earlier drafts of the books. It’s a must-read.

Here’s a snippet from the cover: “Through a dozen of the most compelling stories of breakthrough innovation culled from 2,000 cases and bolstered by uniquely personal essays contributed by over 50 of the most creative minds in business today, The Laws of Subtraction outlines six simple rules for winning in the age of excess everything, and delivers a single yet powerful idea:

When you remove just the right things in just the right way, something very good happens.

I enjoyed the book so much that I wanted to share a copy with you as well. So I’m going to be giving away three copies of the book to a random subscriber of Creative Something. All you have to subscribe to get email updates from me by entering your email address into the “Subscribe by Email” box on the right-hand side of CreativeSomething.net. That’s it!

The sweepstakes is now over! Winners have been contacted by email. Thanks to everyone who participated.
