  I came here to review the TerraHD netbook, which is apparently no longer available. I *love* this machine. I know very little about Linux, but hasn't stopped me from using my ZaReason computer daily (with Linux Mint 10 installed). I've got computers with the major OSs, too, but my netbook just keeps chugging alone, doing what needs to be done without troubling me to do updates or maintenance. And it never slows down! Thanks.

  In response to Corry Doctorow, I have and are using three ZaReason laptops, Alto, netbook and Strata. Both of my girls have used ZaReason laptops throughout college. I have been using a Strata laptop for daily home use for the past two years. I chose ZaReason because I wanted quality parts, quality service and a laptop that worked and did not die, sputter etc. after 18 to 24 months of usage. I also wanted to avoid the Windows software bloat that is required to keep a Windows machine running. As far as I'm concerned its Linux machine from here on out.

  I wanted to review the Alto 1454, which is no longer in production. I purchased this unit back in Aug 2010 and am still using it on a daily basis. Its been a great laptop, all the hardware from Wifi to SD reader working perfectly from day one. I installed PCLinuxOS on it shortly after receiving it (replacing Ubuntu), and its been rock solid for the past 18 months. Still runs as fast as the day I first installed the OS and takes up only 5Gb of HD space. Goodbye Windows bloat and crapware. Don't miss 'ya at all. When the time finally comes to replace this unit, I'l be back to Zareason. Free and open source computing has far more value to me than any closed, locked down system. Thanks again for making such wonderful products and giving consumers a FOSS choice for their computing needs.

  I have owned and run a Teo netbook since May 2010 but it isn't available any more. I really love it. I have desktop computer running Ubuntu which is my main computer at home but I am much happier sat on my easy chair in front of the TV reading my Gmail from the Teo browser and doing a remote desktop login to my desktop to read my regular email.
  
  The battery seems to last about 8-10 hours which means several days while travelling and it has got my wife out of trouble several times when her up-market Windows Laptop failed to log into WiFi sites in Hotels and restaurants. In the end she used my Teo with a USB data stick and a USB "TurboStick" for internet Data access. Luckily the Teo has 3 USB sockets. I have even used it on trains and tour buses.

  This will be my next laptop. I have an older Teo netbook that runs great with Debian Squeeze. I had a small problem with the Teo case, but got it fixed. The hardware on the Teo is great and reliable. Even with only 2GB of RAM, it rarely uses more than 1GB with a KDE desktop and having Iceweasel (the largest memory consumer), Korganizer, Kmail, Skype, Clementine, VLC (playing a movie), and Nepomuk/Strigli running. Battery lasts around 4-5 hours too. Can't wait to try this new one out. It can only get better. --- Thanks, Cathy & Co.!

  The Alto 3880 is my third laptop from ZaReason and it's the best one yet (that's not to say the other two were bad; they definitely weren't). Like the other laptops I bought from ZaReason, I use this daily for work and play. The quality of the hardware is excellent and it runs Linux Mint beautifully.
  
  Obviously, there's a reason I keep coming back to ZaReason for my laptops. Several reasons, in fact. Besides the overall quality of the computers, the customer service and support is outstanding. I've heard people complain about the price of the laptops but you get what you pay for. And what you pay for is darned good.

  "ZaReason sent me their Alto 3880... I found it to be a very snappy, responsive machine that, as promised, "just worked" out of the box. The machine's styling is pretty generic -- it looks like your basic, silvery OEM laptop, albeit
