Tommy Comeaux
Endowed Chair in Traditional Music
Tommy Comeaux was a local physician
and music lover who died in a cycling accident in 1997. The Endowed
Chair in Traditional Music is the result of a grass roots effort in his
honor and for love of roots music. There is a lot of goodwill in
the community and support for this project.
Over $600,000 of the endowment was raised over the years by members of the Lafayette community, to
which the Board of Regents added $400,000 to fund the Chair. The
University administration is enthusiastic and solidly supportive of
this project.
