Kristin Rechberger was Vice-President of Corporate Partnerships at the National Geographic Society, where she developed exploration, education and conservation programmes with scientists, explorers, storytellers and partners worldwide. National Geographic is a global non-profit organization that ?inspires people to care about the planet?, supporting over 300 scientists annually and reaching 325 million people monthly. Rechberger is on the Society's Mission Forward leadership team, developing major global initiatives around oceans, fresh water, energy and cultures to drive public participation, sustainable business practices, and policy outcomes. Rechberger joined National Geographic in 1998 as Director of Business Development to launch its global cable channels. After attending Duke University, Rechberger lived in Asia as a Luce Foundation Fellow, producing documentaries and developing media business strategies. She is active with many organizations including the AINA Foundation, an organization dedicated to cultural revival in post-9/11 Afghanistan. Rechberger connects people and disciplines to address urgent issues through entrepreneurial, creative partnerships for sustainable impact.
