Here's a tidbit:
As far as modern-day games go, Tomb Raider sets up its characters and basic plot rather well. More importantly, you'll be learning more about Lara Croft. This time around, Lara is just coming to terms with who she really is and as you progress you'll be discovering more about her. Gradually, Lara slowly transforms from a scared shipwrecked traveler into a confident and skillful fighter. For some fans, this would be a sufficient reason to get into the whole adventure. But there's a bit more to it than that.
The main appeal of this game lies largely in its combat and shooting segments, so like it or not, action is the main focus here. The game's now well-known slogan -- "A Survivor is Born" -- might be a touch misleading. In order to survive, Lara starts off by shooting a deer in the wilderness. However, as soon as you move on, hunting or surviving (look for food etc.) won't be the priority of the game. So, don't think you'll be wondering around huge, open areas, exploring the wild to your heart's content. It's not about that really.

They also released a new trailer that depicts exactly how insane the next Saints Row will be. You may not want to watch this at work or around your kids; just saying.
Saints Row IV will release on August 20th on current-gen consoles, including the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Sorry Wii U fans, it's not correctly slated for that console.
Here's the official word:
Slated for release in 2014, The team is currently focusing on creating all-new environments, a more refined gameplay experience and a brand new storyline. Sniper Elite 3 is being developed for current and next gen platforms as well as PC.
Sniper Elite 3 will continue the story of elite OSS sniper Karl Fairburne during World War II. Sniper Elite V2 was the surprise hit of last year, introducing millions of gamers to its mix of tense atmosphere and intense action.
“Sniper Elite V2 has been a great success for us and we are thrilled to partner with Rebellion on Sniper Elite 3," said Ian Howe, president, 505 Games North America. “Fans can look forward to the same heart-pounding action they have come to expect from a Sniper Elite game as well as refined and new features that will blow them away.”
“We’re very excited to be working with 505 Games again on a sequel that will build on the highly successful Sniper Elite V2. We’ve got some great ideas to improve on what we did before and feedback from fans has been invaluable. Sniper Elite V2 was just the beginning of what we want to do with the franchise, there are things we didn’t have time to do before that we can really look at featuring this time. We want to focus on making this latest incarnation of Sniper Elite more of a sandbox game but also build on the awesome X-Ray Kill Cam and the atmospheric World War II setting. We’re looking forward to seeing what Sniper Elite fans and gamers in general make of the latest chapter in the story,” said Jason Kingsley, CEO, Rebellion.

Sniping is fun, although I'm still not certain why this series is so much fun for people. It's not that good. Is it?
Ever since Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag officially surfaced, a rumor has been flitting around that there is also an Assassin's Creed game for the Vita in the works. Then just last week, the logo for Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix slipped out to the interwebs, creating more speculation that this could be the rumored Vita game.
Spanish retailer XtraLife added another log to the rumor fire by posting a store listing for a Vita game with that very same name and logo, with a release date of October 10th. The listing has been pulled, of course, but All Games Beta snagged a screenshot.
However, this logo for Rising Phoenix could also be for the rumored Assassin's Creed film, and despite this retailer jumping the gun on the listing, this could still be the case. What do you think?
The game is going to be available for Windows PC and is also heading to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
In Russia, where else?
While previously the Halo 4 multiplayer had been updated with new playlists and the like every single week, 343 has now decided to move to a bi-weekly schedule, which allows them to "provide you with more substantial updates." This does mean that there won't be anything new added to multiplayer next Monday, but 343 is working on some big updates to existing playlists for the coming weeks, and they are also finalizing the design of the FFA playlist.
Elsewhere, another title update is in the works for Halo 4. Specific details haven't been given yet, though the 'X marker' that appears on the HUD after a teammate dies will be making a comeback.
Last week on Xbox Live played out pretty much how you'd expect, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition dominating the most played games, and Minecraft placing ahead of every other XBLA release on the sales charts. Perhaps the only notable things to point out are Tomb Raider debuting at #13, and a bunch of Sega fighters selling really well on XBLA due to a sale.

A Neogaffer has spotted achievements listed for Final Fantasy VIII in the Steam database, and he kindly posted a link to what he found. Does this mean Final Fantasy VIII will be coming to Steam?
Possibly, but considering the achievements for Final Fantasy VII have appeared on Steam before and the game is still not on Steam (available on PC, but not on Steam), then it's just as possible that FFVIII will also not go to Steam. Most likely, this suggests that Final Fantasy VIII will be coming to PC, just as FFVII already has, and Steam has prepared a placeholder for it, much like it originally did with FFVII.
Either way, would you be excited for a PC-version of FFVIII, whether or not it goes to Steam?
If you've been holding out for the PERFECT Pokemon-themed 3DS XL, then your time seems to have come. Nintendo is releasing a very bright yellow, Pikachu-adorned 3DS XL on March 24th in the US. Conveniently, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity will also release on that day.
The handheld will cost $199.99 and you can buy it at GameStop, Toys R Us, Target, and Walmart. Oddly enough, it is not listed on Amazon, at least not yet.
Nintendo has stressed that this is a limited edition, so if you're considering picking this 3DS up, you might want to pounce on it as soon as you can.
Ken Levine's next venture into the world of FPS games, BioShock Infinite, will be arriving on March 23.
