Join Blaffer for a fabulously Filthy Valentine’s Day! Film screening of John Waters’ outrageous film Pink Flamingos will begin at sunset in the courtyard.

It doesn’t get any more cult, classic, or filthy than this. Blaffer Art Museum is proud to present exhibiting artist Tony Feher’s selection for On Screen @ Blaffer: John Waters’s Pink Flamingos (1972). The noted aficionado of expressive bad taste exploded into international infamy with this darkly comic, no-budget parade of the perverse in which Divine stars as Babs Johnson, a flashy criminal on the lam from the FBI who is hiding out in a trailer outside of Baltimore with her mother, an obese dim-witted woman who is malignly obsessed with eggs, her degenerate son Crackers, and Babs’ duplicitous traveling companion, Cotton. While Babs would prefer to be left in peace, she takes great pride in her status as “the Filthiest Person Alive,” and when Connie and Raymond Marble announce their plans to take the title away from her, Babs is not about to stand idly by. Tony Feher describes Pink Flamingos as a “feel good movie” because “no matter how bad you felt going in, you’ll feel better on the way out realizing that compared to what was on the screen, things aren’t so bad after all.”

Audiences strongly cautioned.
