Using the Match like-sounding names checkbox.
If you are not sure how to spell the name, it may help to
check the Match like-sounding names checkbox.
The system will search for names which sound like the one you
specify, using the Soundex method (See Knuth, D.E., "The Art of Computer
Programming", vol. 3).
If Match like-sounding names gives too many matches, you can
narrow the search by giving some initials,
or by checking Match name exactly .
Note that, while the Soundex method can deal correctly with variations
such as Smith , Smythe and Schmidt ,
it will not find Thompson from Thomson ,
nor Rodgers from Rogers .
The Soundex indexes which support this search method index only
single components of surnames. If you
check Match like-sounding names you must type only one
component of the surname.
