    Adaptive Exposure for more localized contrast and detail


    Topaz Adjust includes unique Adaptive Exposure technology which allows you to add more localized contrast to your image, rescue detail from blown out highlights or blocked up shadows, and adjust basic contrast and brightness. Adjusting the adaptive exposure is a great way to enhance flat images and add texture, detail and depth throughout your image.

    For even more flexibility, there is an adjustable regions slider which allows you to control how your applied Adaptive Exposure is allocated throughout your image. The value of the Regions slider determines how many regions to divide your image to. By increasing the regions in your image, you can generate more variations of color and detail - plus enhance the appearance of depth.

    Flexibility and Selectivity

    The Local adjustments tab allow you to selectively enhance specific elements of your image. Using the brush you can quickly set your strength and brush parameters and then brush over any area of your image to adjust it. Plus, with intuitive edge-aware technology you can easily set the edge sensitivity and then brush freely - letting the brush detect and protect edges for you.

    • Dodge - Lightens specific areas of the image.
    • Burn - Darkens specific areas of the image.
    • Brush Out - Taper or remove added effects.
    • Smooth - Smoothes out areas - great for skin!



    Detail Control for Enhanced Depth and Texture


    The sliders in the Detail tab make it easy to creatively enhance or remove details in your photo. Even previously unseen image details can be recovered and enhanced. You can control the exact amount of detail you want to enhance, as well as the size of the details. You can also apply detail Sharpening when you need it.

    spacer Get even more control over your detail adjustments using the Process Details Independent of Exposure checkbox. When enabled, this unique detail processing control maintains your color and exposure adjustments, but your image details are processed separately. This feature ideal for cleaning up harsh details that can occur in smooth areas of your image - like sky and water. It can also help minimize halos, grain or noise-like effects, grit and grunge. Or if you like the gritty, grunge look then you can disable this option to allow the crunchy texture to remain throughout your image. Learn more…




    Shadow and Highlight Protection

    When shooting, you can capture details in shadows using longer exposure times, however it also results in blow-out highlights. Or you can shoot to capture details in the highlights using shorter exposure times but the side effect to this is that you lose contrast in your shadows. With Adjust it is easy to achieve a full range of color, plus a well-balanced array of highlights, mid-tones and shadows. You can individually control highlight and shadow areas to recover and enhance just the right amount of detail for your image.

    Built-in Noise Reduction Tool

    Adjust also includes a convenient tool for eliminating image noise. This comes in handy because some of the adjustments you apply can sometimes enhance any pre-existing noise or even create additional noise in your image.
