March 26, 2013: IUPUI Translating Research Into Practice (TRIP) Keynote Address
Supporting Seniors and Families: Helping the Lonely
This annual address features Pearl Dykstra, translational researcher in kinship, intergenerational issues, and families. Dr. Dykstra will present “Alleviating loneliness among older adults: What works and what does not work?” Dr. Dykstra is chair of Empirical Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and is an internationally regarded specialist on intergenerational solidarity, family change, aging and the life course, aging societies, and loneliness. The Keynote Address will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the IUPUI Campus Center Room 450A. Join us for an opportunity to engage with several of IUPUI’S distinguished faculty scholars as they present their translational research and illustrate how they improve people’s lives at the IUPUI TRIP Community Showcase. From health care to information technology, forensic sciences to tourism marketing, and Indiana to the world, these faculty members have translated their research into viable practices that improve our communities.
