Most global monitoring systems are based on probes that create call CDRs that are aggregated in central database and processed with on-demand access to the data. This approach has severe limitations, as systems implementing it cannot provide a complete view on the network, the users and the devices. It’s not all about calls; to make the most of an NGN deployment, operators need to have a comprehensive set of global, per-device and per-user KPIs. Additionally, Registration information is vital to ensure the service quality — did you know that 90% of the signaling traffic in NGNs is generated from Registrations, and not from calls?
But most importantly, all network data must be available in real-time. There is no point in wasting time in critical situations: PALLADION KPIs, calls, registrations and all other information is instantly available, and reflects the current state of the network and the service. End-to-end Call Correlation from the Start
PALLADION features a unique end-to-end call correlation that is able to look at the entire call when it traverses the network. A major difference to other monitoring systems is that PALLADION correlates all calls in real-time, not only on-demand and not only for a subset of the calls. This is the basis for a large set of advanced functionality that allows in-depth monitoring of all activities on the network. The end-to-end correlation works in any network topology, and also between signaling protocols, via a powerful automatic correlation algorithm that connects the individual call legs even if topology hiding or application processing is performed between them.
Among other things, the real-time end-to-end correlation allows PALLADION to display all calls on the platform historically with all details attached. The table can be filtered for almost any criteria, and includes audio quality information for each call. Being a true real-time system, PALLADION processes and shows calls that have been started milliseconds ago, even before they are ringing. This allows one to follow session establishment as it happens, and not only after the call is long since finished.
