The LTRC dedicates itself to Vassar’s scholars, teachers, and learners, recognizing that students and faculty shift between and share all three roles. We connect students and faculty across disciplines in conversation and conscious reflection about our work. We challenge the notion that knowledge is static and insular. Instead, we welcome and enable a diverse and dynamic learning community. For example, we:

  • Design and lead annual faculty development seminars that are informed by our close work with students and the curriculum
  • Run a thriving peer Writing Center that gives students occasions to engage interested readers outside of any particular course
  • Encourage faculty to see how their research informs their teaching and vice versa
  • Sponsor student-led Supplemental Instruction courses that reinforce learning in math and science

The LTRC welcomes all members of the Vassar community as valued participants in all of our programming.
