Join Junkies Nation in helping our walker get ready for her walk to help Fight Breast Cancer through the Avon Foundation. Junkies Nation is proud to be part of the fight against breast cancer and we hope that you join us with a small donation.

Our walker is committed to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It’s a big commitment, one that will require me to spend the next several months training and fundraising. But breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and she is determined to do everything she can to help put an end to it.

This walk is being dedicated to her mother, a breast cancer survivor.

The money she raises will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those who most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. She’ll be just one of thousands of people who will walk up to 39.3 miles over two days, raising awareness promoting education.

She can’t do this without your help, please donate now.

Moonshade Pools Dimension Preview

The winners of Trion’s recent Joy of Dimensions contest were awarded one very cool reward– an early key to the new Moonshade Highlands dimension currently in development. This dimension, which is being called Moonshade Pools, will most likely be released in 2.3. It was held back from being released in 2.2 due to the lack of structural buildings inside the dimension. During the course of the Joy of Dimensions live stream series, dimension fans requested some of the tiny hovels found elsewhere in Moonshade Highlands. These hovels haven’t made it into the Moonshade Pools dimension the contest winners are now able to enjoy, but they’ll be there when RIFT 2.3 goes live.

For now, the empty Moonshade Pools dimension is currently up for public preview on the Deepwood shard. If you’d like to take a peek, simply search for “Moonshade Pools.” Keep reading to see a screenshot preview of the empty dimension as well as some information Faratha shared on the forums regarding item limits and the general size of the dimension.

As part of RIFT 2.2′s Hotfix #3 yesterday, we received a slight boost to the amount of Prize Tickets most Carnival of the Ascended games offer. After seeing forum threads like this one, Trion finally broke down and realized many folks simply weren’t happy with the carnival’s effort-to-reward ratio this year. I also shared some thoughts about the carnival in an editorial regarding the same subject.

Keep reading to take a look at the updated rewards as they currently stand.

Simon Ffinch Hints at Dendrome Opening Event and RIFT’s Year Ahead

Date: Mar 13, 2013  |  Written by Laura Hardgrave  |  Posted Under: Buzz  |  DISQUS With Us: 2 comments

OnRPG recently had a chance to interview Simon Ffinch, Senior Design Director of RIFT. During the interview, the OnRPG team tried to garner some information about what the next year will hold for RIFT. There weren’t too many new tidbits of info discovered in the interview, sadly, but there were a couple of interesting details. Here are two of the questions that were asked, along with their answers:

Can you tell us a bit about what you have planned for this year?

Well I don’t want to give away too much right now so I will keep this a little vague. We do have updates planned out for RIFT well into next year with some really exciting and much requested things for the players to experience. We will be expanding on all the features we have in the game right now and exploring a host of new ones. With the death of the dragons things will be changing around Telara. Players will discover that the denizens of the plane of life are not so bad after all with the corruption of Greenscale removed, although they can be a little mischievous. I will just say that nature abhors a vacuum and the Dragons have left a very large vacuum and of course the true meaning and power of the infinity gate is still to be revealed.

What can we look forward to in Dendrome when it comes out with 2.3?

In the immediate future players can look forward to the world event that will lead to the opening of The Dendrome. Small cracks in the barrier between Ashora and the Dendrome can be widened by players, the better they do the easier the access to the Dendrome will become. As well as a large amount of area to explore this zone will add a really radical new type of dynamic content called Strongholds, plus a whole lot more that will be revealed over the coming weeks. The players will also get to learn a lot more about the Architects and their history and place in Telara.

While this isn’t quite as promising as an official state-of-the-game address listing more specifics on Trion’s yearly plans, at least this bit is something. The plans for opening Dendrome sound pretty interesting. It will be nice to see another world event that’s tied to the current story in a major way. Make sure to check out the full interview over at OnRPG.

Dev Tracker Roundup: Love Bug-Be-Gone and More

Here you’ll find a quick roundup of some of the interesting dev tracker official forum posts from yesterday. Yesterday’s highlights included a fairly welcome departure of love, er, I mean the Love Bug, as well as some good news for players who grumble at the raid loot window when 2-handed weapons drop week after week. Oh, yes, and Kerilar gave achievement goers a summary of how the Codex: Wheel of the Fate alternative Warfront is supposed to work. Does it work that way in practice? Usually not, but it’s still an interesting read.

Keep reading to take a look.

It’s All Fun and Games at the Carnival… Or is it?

Despite the fact that we’re right in the middle of RIFT’s second anniversary and Sanctum, Meridian, and the dock area of Tempest Bay are full of cheerful NPCs, colorful balloons, and carnival games galore, there’s one thing missing among the festivities on many shards. One group of things, rather. Well, okay, not things exactly. People. Despite the popularity of last year’s Carnival of the Ascended, this year our carnival grounds seem a little sparse.

Not all shards are experiencing this sparseness, of course, but even on high and medium population shards, folks are noticing the lack of carnival goers. I know I have. It was hard to miss the giant raids of balloon stompers last year even on low population shards. This year, the first day had a few smaller raids forming up on the two PvE shards I frequent, but now even during peak hours there are rarely more than three people wandering through any of the carnival attractions. So, what gives? Why aren’t the carnival games as popular as they were last year?
