To avoid getting that experience, here are some tips on how to block text messages.

The first and foremost tip to be done is to call your service provider and inform them about the random number that has texted you. Give them the number and the cell phone service provider can block the text messages from that number. If however you do not want to accept text messages at all then you have to inform your provider and they will turn off that option for you. Normally, the text service is an add-on service that can be availed from the provider. In case you want to cancel your subscription you will have to let the provider know. Another option you can do is to log on to the website of your provider. There should be a member sign up page for first-timers. Look for the option of how to block numbers or text messages.

If the text message is coming from a company or organization there is usually the option of unsubscribing from text messages. You type “Help” in case it is not in the options. If that will still not work take a look of your cell phone manual. More recent cell phones have the option to block numbers. You can change your settings accordingly.

In case you choose to turn off your text message all together, it is best that you inform your contacts that you are doing so. This will make it so that they are well-informed in case they will text you regarding important matters later on. At least if they are advised that you are not going to receive messages, they will have to do other ways of communicating with you.

Tracking a Cell Phone

The cell phone is one of the basic necessities for a lot of people. It has become a norm to bring along a cell phone to whatever event or happening there is going on. It has also been a way to keep in touch with one’s loved ones and friends. In other instances the cell phone has saved lives and on the other end it could cost lives. But no matter what circumstances one may be in, it is sometimes a need for others to track a cell phone. Here are some tips.

Tracking a cell phone will require some work. First of all the cell phone that needs to be tracked has to be with you. The tracking software will have to be installed directly from the cell phone. It is not yet possible to remote install tracking software. Search for a good tracking software like uLocate and Wherify and install that on the cell phone. The next step will be to add a GPS tracker on the phone. The tracker will be needed because it will be the physical chip that will be sending signals to the satellites. This physical chip will let you know of the physical location of the cell phone. Make sure that the chip is placed where the user will not notice it. You can go to a shop that installs chips on cell phones. The third step will be to load the tracking software on the computer. With the help of a single button you will be able to track the phone and thus the person using the phone.

It is a must to check that the software installed on the computer is going to be compatible with the program used for tracking. Usually maps on the Internet are integrated so that it will be easy to see the physical location. Once the software is installed on the computer and as long as it is online, it is ready for tracking the cell phone.
