  • Commencement 2011

    The 2011 Commencement exercises will take place at the Canaan Christian Church located at 2840 Hikes Lane on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. Graduates check-in at 8:30 a.m. and line-up by 9:00 a.m. Each graduate will be allotted 4 guest tickets for seating on the first floor and balcony of the church sanctuary. Additional seating for other guests will be available in satellite areas with video monitors. Families with small children are requested to use the satellite/video viewing areas. Wheel chair and scooter-accessible space for guests with tickets is available on a limited basis within the direct viewing area in the sanctuary. We ask that you contact us in advance to reserve one of these spaces.

  • Spalding University honors four local leaders

    The Board of Trustees of Spalding University and the University community will honor four distinguished individuals with deep roots in the Louisville community or who have made significant contributions in their fields of service at the 2011 commencement service. The honorees receiving honorary doctorates are Walter Malone, Jr., D.Min., Mary Elizabeth Miller, SCN, and Susan Stout Tamme. Elmer Lucille Hammonds Allen will be honored with the Caritas Medal, the highest honor the university confers on an alumna. The commencement service and the honoring of award recipients takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Canaan Christian Church, 2840 Hikes Lane. (cont'd)

    Spalding University offers a comprehensive program of varsity level athletics to meet the diverse interests of our student-athletes.   • School of Business Accredited by the IACBE

    On March 29, the Board of Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) approved the accreditation of two Spalding University School of Business programs—the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and the Bachelor of Science in Accounting. The decision was announced March 31 at the IACBE Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Accreditation from an external organization like IACBE provides our students with external validation that they are receiving a high quality education that has prepared them for the world of business,” says Provost L. Randy Strickland. “IACBE accreditation also provides the regional business community additional confidence in the quality of Spalding business graduates.” (cont'd)

  • New Recycling Program at Spalding

    Beginning in mid-April, Spalding University will be changing procedures for waste disposal and recycling. Spalding is partnering with QRS Recycling to implement "Single Stream Recycling." The new recycling program is a no sort, cost effective, simple and efficient method of recycling more and wasting less. It is worth repeating, "Single Stream Recycling” eliminates sorting.
