The A.A.S. degree in applied business provides you with a solid foundation in business and gives you the skills and training you need to be successful business owner. The business world of the 21st century is rapidly changing. New advancements in technology coupled with the fundamentals of the business world, are key to preparing for a successful career.
Program Overview
The applied business program will provide you with a well-rounded business education covering a wide range of business related subjects to include: emerging technologies, advanced business procedures, interpersonal skills, principals of accounting, applied management, human relations, math, communications, customer service, business law, finance and logic.
Whether you are pursuing a one-year applied business management certificate or a two-year associate of applied science degree, our instructors offer a practical understanding of the marketplace. Classes are taught by full-time faculty, and numerous adjunct instructors from the local business community bringing real-world business insight and experience to the classroom. Many of the classes are available on-line, in the evening or on weekends.
Applied Business Concentration Areas
Students in the Applied Business program choose from one of 13 concentration areas. Students who complete a certificate can go on to complete their A.A.S. degree, and eventually pursue a Bachelor’s degree in business administration at UAF or UAS.
