Createasphere's Digital Asset Management Conference

February 27-28, 2013 | The Beverly Hilton | Los Angeles, CA

CREATEASPHERE WRAPS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE

Fourth Annual L.A. Gathering Ends on a High Note

Createasphere, wrapped its fourth successful annual Digital Asset Management Conference last Thursday, February 28th, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The event provided two days of high-quality education and networking opportunities for everyone working with assets.

Wednesday morning’s keynote featured Wall Street Journal bestselling author Soren Kaplan’s “Leapfrogging to Breakthrough Innovation,” while Parks Associates’ Heather Way delivered a state of the industry address. A special afternoon keynote featured Turner Broadcast Systems, Inc.’s Wesley Simpson describing the seven habits of a highly effective MAM system.

Lunchtime tabletop discussions allowed attendees to engage in in-depth conversations with leading experts on such subjects as Digital Workflow, Big Data, and DAM trends for 2013. The day ended with a cocktail reception that allowed attendees to look over the exhibitors’ products and solutions.

In keeping with the Los Angeles conference’s entertainment industry focus, on Thursday morning, Tad Scripter, Engineer in Charge for the Academy Awards®, was interviewed by TVWeek.com’s Chuck Ross about the complexities of staging one of the biggest live shows on television. Later, 5th Kind CEO Steve Cronan described how Marvel Studios was able to overcome workflow challenges in his Case Study presentation, and MediaMine’s Barry Snyder showed the legacy collection of prolific photographer, director and artistic collaborator Norman Seeff.

The conference ended with a panel discussion covering the biggest challenges for DAM in 2013, featuring insights from such industry experts as Seven Dials Media’s Dan McGraw, Taxonomy Strategies’ Joseph Busch and Florance & Associates’ John Florance.

“Our commitment to the DAM community is to continually provide the most relevant information, the most knowledgeable speakers and the best selection of solution providers,” said Kristin Petrovich Kennedy, president of Createasphere. “This conference certainly fulfilled that commitment.”

Createasphere’s next Digital Asset Management Conference takes place in New York at a new location, the Westin Grand Central, on October 7-8, 2012. The gala DAMMY Awards luncheon will also be held there on October 8th.
