RESOLVED: QPS Stats Views Behind

DynECT Managed DNSPosted: 2013.01.28

Starting approximately 9:00 AM UTC February 9, 2013 some maintenance for the DynECT Managed DNS QPS graphs have left the daily views trailing behind. Some customers may see a cliff-like render, exacerbated by the addition of resources to our query logs processors. Some adjustments are planned in the next few weeks to normalize this appearance, so that only complete intervals are presented through the portal, or when requested through our API.

Update (March 19th): On March 17th QPS daily views caught up to within 1 hour of the current time. Since then, QPS volume has dragged some processing up to two more hours behind at the height of query volume. Due to this effect, some customers may still see the cliff-like appearance in their graphs, and API users should consider this as they pull the latest intervals of QPS data.

We have several more enhancements scheduled this week which will eliminate the exposure to incomplete periods of QPS data, as well as improve processing capacity and timeliness. Also in final development and rollout is a new platform which will eliminate our sensitivity to this issue, and provide opportunity to expose better and more timely metrics to our customers. More on that in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your patience as we service your enterprise DNS needs.
