Theater Hopper: Year Three is a collection of 147 comics from the popular movie-themed webcomic Theater Hopper originally published online between August 2005 and July 2006.
Each comic includes written, never-before-published commentary by the author, enhancing the reader's experience by placing each of the illustrations in specific context. From these behind-the-scenes insights, a narrative is built shedding light on the learning process of a developing artist and small business owner. Think of it like a DVD commentary track, but in a book!
In addition to the comics and the commentary, there are 139 never-before-published sketches - several of them with their own humorous commentary. Also, a handy glossary that lists every film referenced in the book. Now you can find your favorite movie and skip directly to the corresponding comic!
The book also features a forward written by Joe Dunn of Joe Loves Crappy Movies.
Theater Hopper: Year Three will be published in paperback with over 200 pages of content in glorious color. It will measure a sturdy 6 x 9" and should have no problem finding a home on your shelf along side your collection of graphic novels! It will be sold for $15.00 through my web site, conventions and retail stores around the country.

Why Kickstarter?
Fans of my comic know that I have previously self-published two books (available now!) without resorting to fund raising efforts. Why have I turned to Kickstarter now?
The simple answer would be to say that Kickstarter didn't exist when I produced my first two books!
But the honest truth is that in the past, I would suppliment pre-orders with advertising revenue and the combined funds was enough to send the book to print.
Since the recession hit, advertising revenue has taken a dive. This, in addition to the fact that publishing costs have increased in the last few years has left the dedicated fans who have already pre-ordered their copy of Theater Hopper: Year Three high and dry.
Theater Hopper: Year Three was assembled and completed in January of 2009. I would hate to start 2010 without having this collection printed and in your posession. The books are informative, entertaining and high quality. I think you will be very pleased with the final product with the help of your pledges.
Existing Pre-Orders
I have been promoting a pre-order for this book on my web site that has been running for the majority of the year. If you are one of the dedicated fans that has already pre-ordered a copy of Theater Hopper: Year Three, you will be automatically be receiving ALL of the rewards as part of this fund raising effort up to the $15.00 reward level. Your name will also be given extra prominence on the thank you page to identify you as the initial supporters of the project.
If you are interested in obtaining any of the rewards that are priced above $15.00, I will be handling those transactions individually. I am only charging the difference between your original $15.00 investment and the higher reward levels. In other words, for those who have already pre-ordered, your reward tier starts with custom illustration inside the book for $5, the two extra copies of the book for $30 and so on.
To encourage your participation in this fundraising effort, I am also offering a 25% discount from the difference for the remainder of the fund raising campaign. So the new rewards tier (starting with the custom illustration) becomes $3.25, $22.50 and so on. Once we have agreed on the amount VIA e-mail, you can submit your pledge through the Kickstarter tracking system.
