Buon Natale!

All we want for Christmas is a new bike - and more time to ride it.

I can remember the Christmas my brother got a 'new' BMX for Christmas. It wasn't wrapped up. It was out the back door because Santa couldn't have possibly got it down the chimney. I think Al was turning 5, and his first reaction was 'Hey, this isn't new!'. Dad said something about Santa taking it for a ride first after pumping up the tyres to make sure it was 'good' and might have accidently scratched it. Al bought the story like most 5 year olds. A decade later Dad owned up and it came from the Trading Post. If there is a point to the story it is to never underestimate kids perception.

In a similar vein this Cinelli CMX1 also is not new, and came from the modern day Trading Post.

It was just a frame, just the beginning of a project that still isn't complete. Shown here in it's current incarnation it's the owners sons BMX and when he grows to big for it, the plan is to go OTT with a full original build as per the catalog with NISI rims and Clement tubulars.

Currently it was the orignal stem and post with a modern Unicanitor saddle. Campagnolo TIPO hubs laced to ARAYA chrome rims, Campagnolo BMX Strada crankset and pedals to match. What a RAD Dad!

For now here's some indoor and outdoor shots of what most 5-50 year old boys and girls might like for Christmas.
