NSS - have you responded yet?

The National Student Survey 2013 (NSS) opened at QM on Monday 14 January to mainly final year undergraduate students: www.thestudentsurvey.com. Eligible students will have no doubt heard about the NSS from their School, lecturers and, of course, from the NSS themselves! The survey doesn’t take long to fill in and it is really important to us that you complete it and tell us about your time at QM. We’ve made changes due to other students’ feedback and now it’s your turn to speak up and have your say.

QM top for student satisfaction in London’s research-led institutions

Student satisfaction at Queen Mary is the highest amongst London’s Russell Group universities and two percentage points above the national average, according to an independent nationwide survey of final year students.

Between January and April of every year, the National Student Survey (NSS) questions final year UK undergraduates on various aspects of their student experience, including their overall satisfaction. Among the leading research universities in London, Queen Mary’s students are the most satisfied for the second year in a row, ahead of their Russell Group counterparts.

QM will now use the detailed feedback from the survey to enhance the learning experience for our current students, while prospective students will use the information from the national NSS results to help choose which institution they should join in September 2013.

Top results from QM students:

  • 87 per cent are satisfied with the course quality, which is above national average.
  • 69 per cent are satisfied with the Students’ Union, which is above national average.
  • Student satisfaction at QM is top in London for the second year running, compared with other leading research-led universities.
  • 1,804 students at QM completed the survey.
