A Twist!

Taking a break from Mars-500 for a day while I review some literature regarding the sleep studies that were carried out during the mission. Friday’s Mars-500 comic will probably be the last for a while. Though we may check back on the crew at a later date.

A tine totally broke off my comb! Wtfbbq right? Some of you may have seen this joke on my twitter feed. What you saw is the rare instance where I post a joke and then don’t delete it immediately for use in a comic. Twitter’s fluid nature and character limit is the perfect breeding ground for humor, and it’s where I write some of my best stuff.

Now what am I going to do about this comb? I think I’ll bleach the unkempt strip it leaves in my hair in memoriam.

Don’t comb your hair underwater. (Or is that Gremlins?)

I’ve found that, unless the missing tooth is in the middle, you can comb a section of hair and then, rotating the comb 180 degrees, re-comb the hair. If the missing tines are in the middle or balanced equally on either side (a distressingly common state of affairs on my unbreakable combs) you’ve no choice but to shave those strips left uncombed.

A streak of hair coloured differently as you describe was called a razor in the comic series Grendel by Matt Wagnor.

My comb broke in half, and then another piece broke off. I’m soldiering on with what is left of it. Because I’m too cheap to buy a new one.

    Buy a new, better comb.
    Problem solved.
Unlike when my fine-toothed metal comb broke… or rather one of the teeth bent out of shape and started playing havoc with my hair… Couldn’t find a replacement for that. =(
