Sanford Mall Phase I

Site improvements are planned for this area of campus that previously housed the Lucy Brock building site. Construction bids were received in May and were significantly over budget.  The project is being redesigned and will be re-bid.  Construction has been delayed until Summer 2015.

Sanford Mall Phase II

This project involves significant site improvements to the main open space on campus.  Cole Jenest Stone was selected as the designer, and design is underway.

College of Health Sciences

This new building is planned for the allied health professions.  It is a 200,000 GSF facility.  Design is underway and LS3P is the architect.

Rivers Street Steam & Condensate

This two-phase project includes the repair/replacement of steam and condensate lines along Rivers Street. Phase I is under construction and will be completed Summer 2014.  Phase II will be completed Summer 2015. The engineer of record is RMF.  Greene Construction is the contractor.

Bodenheimer Drive Condensate

This project includes the repair/replacement of steam and condensate lines along Bodenheimer Drive.  The engineer of record is Stanford White.  Construction is underway and will be completed Fall 2014.  Pipeline is the contractor.

Recreation Fields at State Farm

Drainage improvements to the existing fields is the focus of this project.  Working with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Town of Boone, it is anticipated that this project will utilize spoils from the stream improvements being undertaken by the Army Corps of Engineers.  Construction has been delayed due to delays of the river restoration project.  It is anticipated that the fields will be under construction in Spring 2015.

Energy Performance Contract

This project includes energy savings improvements to multiple campus facilities, including lighting replacements, fume hood replacements, HVAC efficiencies, and a new data center for the campus.  This project is underway and will continue until Summer 2015.

Turchin Center Improvements

This project involves enclosing the pedestrian bridge, improvements to the HVAC system and exterior envelope repairs.  The designer of record is McKnight Smith Ward. Construction is underway and should be complete by Fall 2014. Greene Construction is the contractor.

Belk Residence Hall

A complete renovation is underway in Belk Residence Hall.  Residents will enjoy adequate space necessities such as the laundry and kitchen areas.  Additionally, a commons area, conference room and study lounge are being provided, which will encourage student interaction.  The new entrance will be welcoming and provide an air-lock for energy efficiency and the entire building will be ADA compliant.  A new sprinkler system is also being installed.  Construction is...

Anne Belk Hall

Renovation of the top floor of the building will be completed along with installation of fire protection and sprinkler systems throughout the building.  Additional work includes improvements to sound attenuation and some interior finish upgrades.  Edison Foard is the contractor, and construction is underway.  The project will be complete in December 2014. LS3P is the architect of record.
