Furry Poll Results

This page is designed to present in simple, itemised format some key bits of data from the 2012 Furry Survey. Last year's summary page is still available online at www.klisoura.com/ot_furrysurvey2011.php. Data are also available for 2010, 2009 and 2008. The data on this page is current as of 27 December, 2012. Not all data from the poll is represented on this table; for more information, please feel free to contact me at bce@klisoura.com, the AIM s/n "OSDCC", or through the FurIRC IRC network.

There are 3267 entries in the database, with a margin of error +/- 1.75%. Note that not all people responded to all questions, so some entries are based on a smaller data set.

 

Summary points:

  • 2892 respondents (88.52%) of respondents answering the question identified themselves as 'White'
  • 1891 (60.06%) respondents said they considered themselves completely human, with the majority (1447, 45.6% of the total) saying they admired aspects of other animals. 121 (3.81%) said they did not consider themselves human.
  • By order of average score, respondents consider artwork (9.34) most important to the fandom, followed by online communities (9.06), conventions (8.41), fursuiting (7.6), writing (8), and MUDs (6.97).
  • Respondents felt most favourably towards furry artwork (9.02), followed by online communities (8.17), conventions (7.79), fursuiting (7.61), and writing (7.78). They responded more ambivalently towards plushophilia (4.31) and leant negatively towards zoophilia (3.9).
