San Francisco celebrates the Year of the Snake tomorrow when the annual Chinese lunar new year parade slithers around downtown and Chinatown. Saturday's parade stars at 5:30 p.m. at 2nd and Market, going up Market to Kearny and then up to Post and Powell, down Sutter and back to Kearny.
Highlight include Miss Chinatown USA, the 268-foot golden dragon, heaps of corporate-sponsored floats, local politicians, and more. Hopefully more. Bring the kids! Lots of firecrackers too.
Bleacher tickets are sold out. You can watch it from the sidelines or tune in to watch it on television on KTVU Fox 2 or KTSF Channel 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m. For parking and public transportation information, check out chineseparade.com.
