'Star Wars: Episode 7' Will Have Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia

In 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' Princess Leia should be a straight-up queen at this point, right? Regardless of her official title, Carrie Fisher has confirmed that she will be returning to a galaxy far, far away for J.J. Abrams' new 'Star Wars' film.

Fisher was interviewed by Palm Beach Illustrated, and when asked if she would be in the new 'Star Wars' movie she said "Yes," then added that she thinks the character is now "Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle." Fisher kept quipping that she would still be wearing "The bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome." These jokes may also mean that we could get a retraction at some point in the near future.

But if true, it suggests all three stars of the original will be back and that the new films will be about Luke and Leia's force-gifted children. Though that's not the worst starting point, one of the reasons why the first film worked so well was because Luke was a rube farm boy with gifts, not the scion of the most important people in the galaxy, which is how the franchise evolved. Of course, we'll be following the development of this movie closely as new information comes in.

Update: Fisher's people talked to CNN, and said "She was joking, nothing has been announced." But this isn't the first time Fisher has jokingly said she's on board, so who's to say at this point.
