ESSENCE Poll: What's the Worst Part of Your Daily Commute?
By Yolanda SangweniThere's a new breed of commuter on the rise, according to a new report released this week by the U.S. Census Bureau. These "megacommuters" are the folks who take at least 90 minutes and travel at least 50 miles a day to get to and from work. Nearly 600,000 (and growing) Americans are making this tedious trek on the daily. Talk about extreme commuting.
Now we all know commuting to work is about as much fun as watching re-runs of Mitt Romney's concession speech. And let's not get into all the craziness we encounter on the daily. Traffic. Late trains and buses. The guy who keeps nodding off on your shoulder on the subway. How about the rising costs of public transportation? All of it can make you one grumpy employee.
Tell us, what do you absolutely despise about your commute? And feel free to share your worst commuting story. We know you've got plenty of those.
