As a commuter, adult, or transfer student it can be difficult to feel a sense of community within UNCG. Commuting from home or living off campus can be quite a different experience from living in a residence hall. With classes spread all over the day, commuting time, demands of family, or roommates and work, many commuter and off-campus living students have more responsibilities to juggle and smaller periods of time to spend with friends.
The Office of Campus Activities and Programs (CAP) is OnTheGo with our commuters and offers a number of programs and services that provide opportunities for commuters to meet other students and feel connected to UNCG. Visit our Programs link for information and check the calendar for event dates. You can also join our Facebook groups to keep up to date on OnTheGo programs, news impacting commuters or adult students, and connect with other UNCG students.
There are lots of resources and tips for success for adult and commuter students. Check out the Commuter and Off-Campus Living Guide. Weather and Commuter Safety Concerns, and Parking & Transportation.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to visit our office. CAP is located on the second floor of the Elliott University Center (EUC) between rooms 236 & 238. You can also call us at 336-334-5800 or send an email to OnTheGo@uncg.edu.
