Award Management Workshop

You’ve finally received that grant that you’ve worked so hard to get. Now what? This workshop will discuss requirements, strategies and techniques for successfully managing external awards. Presenters: Lloyd Douglas, Associate Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs William Walters, Associate Director of the Office of Contracts and Grants.

Funding Opportunities Databases

This hands-on workshop will give you an overview of available databases as well as an opportunity to test-drive some of them. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS: It is recommended that users have a laptop (attendees 21-30).

NSF Broader Impacts Criterion Workshop

One of the two review criteria for all proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF) is called Broader Impacts. Principal Investigators often struggle with what this means and what kinds of activities can be included under Broader Impacts. This workshop will discuss the wide range of possibilities for this review criterion.

Interacting with Program Officers

Have you ever wanted to know when it’s appropriate to contact the person at your potential sponsor who would be handling your proposal? This workshop will give insights as to why and when you should contact your sponsor and how to interact with your sponsor most effectively. Feel free to bring your own examples to this interactive workshop.

Submitting a Proposal to the National Science Foundation (NSF)

This workshop will go over the ins and out of the requirements for preparing a proposal to be submitted to the National Science Foundation.
