Teaching + Learning How to Look
Application deadline extended to Aug 8, 2014.
Voluteer docents help visitors to the Weatherspoon "learn how to look" by demonstrating skills anyone can use to observe and interpret works of art. Our docents help provide free, guided experiences to nearly 4500 school age children, university students, and adult learners annually.
New docents are accepted into the museum's training program every other year during the fall semester. Our next program begins Sept 8, 2014 (deadline extended to Aug 8). Learn more about joining this enthusiastic and dedicated group of volunteers. Contact Ann Grimaldi at ann_grimaldi@uncg.edu or 336-334-5770.

Teen Art Guides
WAM Teen Art Guides (TAG) is a volunteer program for Guilford County teens in grades 9-12. Participants meet at the museum twice monthly on Thursday afternoons to learn about the museum-behind-the-scenes; get first-hand career experience via interaction with Weatherspoon's staff; and develop strategies for sharing the museum and its treasures with others--all while earning volunteer credit and participating in meaningful extracurricular experiences.
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2014-15 TAG program (deadline to apply Sept 19). Contact Terri Dowell-Dennis at t_dowell@uncg.edu or 336-256-1449. Participation is free and space is limited.
