Volunteer During Membership Drive

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for KUOW! Volunteering is a fun way to support the station.

KUOW's Spring Membership Drive is scheduled for March 24-April 4, 2014. We are currently recruiting volunteers, volunteer groups and food establishments to make our membership drive a success!

Individual phone volunteers:

• Volunteers answer phones in the studio and record donor information.
• All volunteer activities take place KUOW's studios (4518 University Way NE, Suite 310, Seattle, WA 98105).
• Volunteers must be able to work in a loud, busy environment, handle a high volume of phone calls and write legibly. Food and beverages are provided.
• All volunteers are asked to complete one full 4–hour shift.
• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.  No exceptions - not even if child is accompanied by an adult.
• Volunteers must agree to and sign KUOW's Volunteer Confidentiality Statement before beginning their volunteer shift.

To volunteer, follow these steps:

2. Enter your full name, a phone number and your email address. (VolunteerSpot does not share your contact information with third parties. You may opt-out of receiving promotional offers from VolunteerSpot.)
3. Find an available shift and sign up!
4. After you sign up, you will receive an email confirmation immediately. Please check your spam or junk mail folders, if you do not receive the confirmation in your inbox. Although VolunteerSpot follows best practices for email deliverability, spam/junk filters may capture these email messages.  Note: VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone.
5. Find and print the KUOW volunteer parking pass and directions to the station HERE.

Volunteer groups:

• KUOW seeks groups of 6–12 people to help answer phones and record pledges.
• Groups of 6 or more will be recognized on–air throughout their membership drive shift.
• To schedule a volunteer group shift, send an email to volunteer@kuow.org or call Katy Christopulos at 206.616.5839. Please provide your telephone number, email address and your group's name in your message.
• All volunteer group members are asked to complete one full 4–hour shift.
• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. No exceptions - not even if child is accompanied by an adult.
• Volunteers must agree to and sign KUOW's Volunteer Confidentiality Statement before beginning their volunteer shift.

Food Donations:

• KUOW seeks donations of prepared food to feed phone volunteers while they are working at the station. We are looking for donations of meals to feed 20–30 people.
• Restaurants and caterers that donate meals, snacks or beverages to KUOW volunteers receive on–air recognition on the day that they donate as well as recognition online and in print.
