Journals

PLOS publishes a suite of influential journals from all areas of science and medicine that contain rigorously reported, peer reviewed Open Access research articles. The journals vary in their criteria for publication and, with the exception of PLOS ONE, also publish a variety of influential and educational non-research content. The journals are editorially independent.

PLOS encourages authors to consider carefully each journal’s scope, outlined below, before submission in order to minimize delays in the review process. If necessary, PLOS will help in transferring manuscripts from one PLOS journal to another.

A note on PLOS Clinical Trials:

As of August 2007 the journal merged with PLOS ONE, where the editorial mission to publish results of all correctly conducted and reported clinical trials – irrespective of outcome – continues. PLOS Clinical Trials articles remain accessible at plosclinicaltrials.org, archived in PubMed Central and indexed by PubMed. PLOS is a founder organization of the AllTrials campaign launched in January 2013. Read more about PLOS’ ongoing commitment to transparency in clinical trial publication on the PLOS EveryONE blog.

PLOS is a member of the Committee for Publication Ethics and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Editorial staff are members of the Council of Scientific Editors, the National Association of Science Writers, the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors and the World Association of Medical Editors.
