Inside the fon router

Before christmas foneros was giving away free routers to countries in europe. The router itself is tiny: it fits nicely in the palm of my hands (and i have small hands).
Included is a 5 v Ac/Dc converter and a simple user manual.
Anxious to see what was inside i started dissassembling. On the way i took some pictures for you all to see so read on!

Did you know you could build a speaker out of your old hard drive?
Well as a matter of fact, a harddrive uses the same technology for its arm as a traditional loudspeaker. Just apply the right waveform and it will produce sound.

MAX232 Serial level converter

When communicating with various micro processors one needs to convert the RS232 levels down to lower levels, typically 3.3 or 5.0 Volts.

DS1820 Temperature regulator

This simple project uses a Dallas DS1820 one wire temperature sensor and a pic 16f628 microprocessor. A simple temperature regulator where a LED symbolizes the Fan.

This lightbox will cost you less than 1 $ as it only uses 5 sheets of paper. After 15 minutes of folding and cutting you are set!

Lost your IBM ThinkPad Supervisor password? No problem, on this page i will show you how to recover your old password.
Although IBM claims their TP BIOS passwords are impossible to break, there is a easy and cheap way to fix this.
The stuff you need cost about 5 $ at your closest radio shack type of store. Also you need a spare PC with a serial port.

Reviving Laptop batteries

Here is a way to revive your old battery pack. Usually the laptop battery is the first part to break. On older laptops a new battery pack can cost more than the PC itself, so buying a new one is no option.
