Advocates for Small Business
Intuit sparks new job growth for small business in two ways: For the next three years, we're giving Startup America $37 million in special offers and pricing on products including QuickBooks Online, Intuit Payroll Services and QuickBooks Merchant Services for member companies. Meanwhile, as major sponsors of the Association of Small Business Development Centers annual conferences, we offer professional development to America's top small business consultants, so they can provide meaningful support for small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Love Our Local Business
For more than three years, we've enabled local small businesses to earn a little love from their customers - and more than $1 million for their businesses. With our Love Our Local Business program, we've awarded grants of up to $50,000 to winning entrepreneurs whose customers have nominated them for their uniqueness, service and contributions to their community. These grants deliver more than just cash; they generate priceless publicity, facilitate business growth - and even make new hires possible.
We Care & Give Back
Our idea of doing well? Doing more. For almost 30 years, we've fostered innovation through deep customer empathy and design thinking. With our We Care & Give Back program, we apply this thinking to our philanthropic efforts. The result? An American Red Cross mobile app. Regular blood drives. Support for food banks in both the U.S. and Canada. And ongoing volunteer work at a wide range of employee-nominated nonprofits, including Make-A-Wish, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship and many more.
Local Effort, Global Effect
Our free mobile application, Fasal, connects famers in India to marketplace agents, or mandis. To date, we've helped 1.5 million farmers to get fair market prices for their products. Fasal delivers information and updates on potential buyers for the farmers' produce, current prices - even the weather - via SMS on the cell phones they already have. Earning 15-20% more for their produce, these small business owners are building better lives for their families and planning for a significantly better future.
Financial Freedom Foundation
Our Financial Freedom Foundation helps disadvantaged individuals and small businesses understand, manage and control their finances. In addition to donating our tax preparation, financial management and accounting and online services, we put serious effort toward developing new tools, such as our free earned income tax credit finder smart phone app. New York City's Office of Financial Empowerment has used it to help thousands of lower-income taxpayers claim more than $5 million in federal refunds they didn't know they had coming to them.
Do One Thing
At Intuit, our operating value "It's the People" reflects our long-standing commitment to diversity. In 2011, through a partnership with the United Nations, we joined forces with 40 other supporting organizations to launch Do One Thing for diversity and inclusion, a campaign to help promote World Day for Cultural Diversity. The campaign fosters intercultural dialogue to counter the effects of polarization and stereotyping, and improve cooperation. We're closing in on our goal of one million participants worldwide; join our movement on Facebook!
Intuit Ranks as One of the Best Places to Work
At Intuit, we serve three stakeholder groups: employees, customers and shareholders. In 2012, our focus and determination to be our best has earned us some high honors in the U.S. and globally - including our ranking of No. 19 on Fortune's 100 Best Places to Work. It's our 11th consecutive appearance. Among the qualities they found noteworthy: Intuit is more than a place to work. It's a place where employees can actually make a difference, explore and create positive change. Click here to see the full list of our rankings.
