When Bad Guys Do Good
by Dewka on Mon Jul 25, 2011 7:33 pm
The 501st Legion is not only a Star Wars "bad guy" costuming organization, and if you have ever seen members of the 501st Legion walking in charity walks, they likely were not there just for a stroll in thier armor. Members of the Legion take part in all sorts of charity events around the world every week. From cancer and autism walks to blood drives and staffing telethon telephone lines, Members are "bad guys doing good" in thier communities.
The 501st Legion does not charge for appearances, but does assist charitable groups in gaining funds, and donations made in the name of the charity are welcomed. What better way to bring attention to your cause, than to have a few Stormtroopers lead by Darth Vader making the rounds, or running in a half marathon for charity? To date in 2011, the 501st Legion has assisted charities in raising over -3.4 million US Dollars, and 2011 still has five months left in the year. You can find out more abou the fundraising work of these armored men and women by vising the 501st Legions' charity page.
