Disa Johnson SEO

I started Search Return in 2005 to provide consulting training services with software tools for SEO practitioners. Request a proposal at Search Return. There really is no Substitute. I am among the few who can say I’ve had a LinkedIn profile since 1999, bought penny clicks for clients from GoTo and had a hand in launching Paid Inclusion with Inktomi, Altavista and FAST (the engines are now part of Yahoo!). I’ve also used Twitter since 2006, Google Analytics the day it launched, and demonstrate leadership by acting early and with great care to advantage my clients without wasting precious time or revenue.

I bought penny clicks for clients from GoTo and had a hand in launching Paid Inclusion with Inktomi (now part of Yahoo!) with PositionTech. I’ve used Twitter since 2006, Google Analytics the very day it launched, and I consistently demonstrate leadership acting early and with care to advantage clients not wasting time or revenue.

A description of my practice in the digital world would not be complete without discussing the art of Information Security and Cryptography. It’s a wonderful but dangerous world with hackers out there and you don’t want business days to feel like Halloween. I had the distinct pleasure to be called upon by reformed hacker Kevin Mitnick to help craft cryptogram puzzles for the paperback edition of his New York Times Best Seller. “Ghost in the Wires is out!!! It has all new, much more difficult codes to crack. Thank you @AirDisa for all your hard work :-)” – Kevin Mitnick.

Professional Experience

Director of SEO, PositionTech

Established and directed the technical SEO department in service to clients as the original Paid Inclusion program began to subside. Built the subsequent department, added Local services and initiated the establishment of the PPC department, trained staff who now run PPC for Digitas in Chicago.

Executive Vice President of Technology, YourAmigo

Brought in to advise about search engine guidelines for the development of SEO software, the indexing product known as Spider Linker.

Owner / Technologist, Successworks Intl.

Contributed to the technological advancement of Successworks from SEO copywriting over dialup Internet access, to a full-fledged SEO services company with brand clients and innovative technical copywriting techniques, including the Google Snippet trick in wide use today. Built and maintained the company network and ran help desk.

Vice President of Technology, PositionTech

Facilitated the successful launch of the original Inktomi Paid Inclusion product with owner Jim Stob. Wrote technical guide materials for SEO service providers, PI service communication templates and actively advocated the product in the marketplace. PR duties required interviews with major tech columnists, including main stream media such as Wall Street Journal, and SEO publications. Google Shopping has now adopted Paid Inclusion services, using precisely the same justifiable arguments we established a decade ago.

Worldwide Director of Search Services, Outrider

Directed the SEO/PPC department for Outrider Worldwide, the digital arm of WPP, which today is one of the largest marketing agencies in the world. We handled unique services for major brands and defined the art of brand SEO services and practices that are relevant and serviceable to this day.

Technologist, Multimedia Marketing Group

Oversaw the SEO department and broadened the popular I-Search Digest email list, growing its membership to more than triple the subscriber base with 18,000+ avid readers.
