Double Door
Double Door is located in the heart of Chicago's
Wicker Park. The premier club has hosted thousands
of artists since their first show June 12, 1994.
Over the last 15 years, a plethora of diverse musicians
have performed at Double Door, both on the national
and local scale. The contemporary and classic artists
who have graced the club's stage include The Rolling
Stones, The Roots, Tenacious D, Kid Rock, Macy Gray,
Joan Jett, Bush, The Cranberries, John Legend,
Fountains of Wayne, Sonic Youth, Feist, The Killers,
TV on the Radio, Kings of Leon, Smashing Pumpkins,
Kaiser Chiefs, Common, Michelle Branch, Damian
Marley, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion, and
Henry Rollins. In addition to national acts,
hundreds of emerging musicians and local talent
launched their booming careers on Double Door's stage,
including Local H, Disturbed, Rise Against, Rachael
Yamagata, and Kill Hannah.
Double Door has hosted parties and events for major
businesses, MTV, VH-1, and Rolling Stone Magazine,
as well as numerous local benefits and fundraisers for
area musical, cultural, political, educational, and
charitable organizations. This music scene mainstay
has been the backdrop for many major motion pictures
including High Fidelity, Wicker Park, Next of Kin, and
Weather Man.
