Selection Committee

We are pleased to announce the following members of the 2013 Startl Accelerator Selection Committee.  The distinguished members of the committee will review applicants along with the team here at Startl.

Chris Fong
Chris leads Google’s channel sales partnerships team in the United States that works with automotive, travel, legal and real estate partners. His team helps partners to build long term, profitable businesses around Google products. Prior to this role he started Google’s direct sales division’s focused efforts with education organizations in 2006 to assist those organization with their digital marketing strategies. His experience also includes working in Tanzania evaluating business plans and mentoring entrepreneurs for Google.org.

Steven Hodas
Steven has worked in edtech for 20 years, at organizations ranging from early-stage startups, to NASA, to publicly-traded companies. A serial entrepreneur, he currently runs the Ecosystems and Markets project (Innovate NYC Schools)  for the NYCDOE’s iZone.

Alex Taub
Alex leads Business Development and Partnerships at Dwolla, a payments startup based in Iowa. He previously led business development and partnerships for Aviary, a NY startup that provides a photo editing API for web and mobile devices.  He is on the board of NY Venture Community (NYVC), started the Digital Learning Series with Startl, is a NextNY Fellow, and advises early-stage companies. Alex has been featured in Business Insider as one of the “Top 20 Under 25” in the NY tech scene. He writes a popular blog called Alex’s Tech Thoughts, has been published in The New York Observer, The Next Web, and Venturebeat. He is also a contributor for the Forbes Entrepreneur section.
