Our attitude to research is closely informed by the value we place on addressing real world problems - those faced by policy makers, professional practitioners in architecture and planning, the construction industry and users of the built environment. We place great importance on engaging with our research users, developing an approach to impact which places our original research discoveries in the public realm. This ranges from changes to planning policy and building regulations, to the introduction of new patents and insights into the management of projects and strategic decision-making in design, to the curation of exhibitions and the experience of place, to instigating advisory committees with governments and NGOs on post-conflict settlements and water poverty.
