I'll be joining an amazing group of artists for EFA Project Space's New York City Arts Workers Studio Residency. Launched by EFA Project Space in August 2010, the Studio Residency for New York City Arts Workers is the only residency of its kind, providing an opportunity for accomplished art professionals (administrators, curators, directors), who are artists in their own right, the space and encouragement to focus on their studio practice.

Ricardo and I have been awarded a commission and residency from El Ranchito (a project of Matadero in Madrid) along with artist José Luis Aguilera and Beatriz Marcos. The artist-in-residence at El Ranchito is unique in that it is available for artists who do not reside in Madrid (whether Spanish or international) and come recommended by artists and cultural agents who are city residents in order to develop a joint or collaborative project. The residencies can last from 3 to 6 weeks between May and December 2011. We will begin our residency in early December and remain in Spain through January. Art Wars ( kck.st/n1titP ) is an adventure game set in the New York City Art World where you must navigate the art scene of Downtown NYC. Your goal as an artist is to earn 'cred' points and keep your cash flow positive while in a battle to keep your career and social life intact. Can you survive and succeed, or are you doomed to life in a cubical? Art Wars is like Oregon Trail meets 2011. Some might even consider this an (almost too) realistic representation of life in NYC as an artist.
