The CNR installation at the University Scientific Pole of Sesto Fiorentino
was completed in June 2005. In the
five buildings that constitute it, the Florence Research Area houses 6
Institutes and 6 Territorial Sections, in addition to important scientific
structures such as the Laboratory for Meteorology and the Design and
Construction of Environmental Models (LAMMA), the Centre of Electronic
Microscopies (CeME),
and ELab
Scientific Srl, a CNR spin-off Company.
The Area has a total covered area of
more than 23,000 m2, is equipped with a Congress Centre with three halls
and meetings rooms, a cafeteria and bar. Its service structures guarantee
logistical, technical-organisational, computer and administrative support
to the Institutes constituting it.
