Janelle Monae – Many Moons
I've been seriously crazy for Janelle Monae's new album The Electric Lady, but "Many Moons" from her ambitious debut EP, Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase), remains my favorite of her videos.

Milla Jovovich -- yes, that Milla Jovovich, the one from the The Fifth Element and the Resident Evil movies -- does music. I've had her 1994 album, The Divine Comedy, since around the time it came out and I've enjoyed her contributions to film soundtracks over the years. Somehow missed the single she released last year, "Electric Sky", until just now.

This is just about the prettiest thing I've heard in ages. From Still Corners' recent Strange Pleasures album.

Mazzy Star has unveiled "California" from their upcoming album Seasons of Your Day, arriving September 24. This is the band's first new output since 1996's Among My Swan, and it finds them as enchanting as ever they were. Nice to see some things don't change.
A video for the song is slated to appear in August. We may update or repost the song then. In the meantime, enjoy the audio.
