Nathan's Reviews

  • "Nathan is excellent at teaching orchestral excerpts. He has thought through them very thoroughly and analyzed the technical aspects. He is able to explain to students how to execute the skills necessary for an accurate performance. Thank you, Nathan, for taking the time to help violinists with the tough world of audition literature."Katrin
  • "Nathan is such a well-expressed, cheerful and responsible coach. His ideas and comments from the videos make us understand the points of excerpts clear and we got motivated to keep work and get improved. It's been a great experience. We get the chance to know different music styles, opinions, ideas and experiences through ArtistWorks." Yinbin Qian
  • "Just being able to watch the lesson videos is invaluable, and Nathan's video responses are insightful and very helpful. For me the lessons on individual orchestral excerpts are of most interest, as my professional goal is to be an orchestra player."Erin Lawson
  • "This is revolutionary! It doesn't get much better than this for violinists at all levels. You won't find such affordable, yet personalized online violin lessons elsewhere, not from a violinist of Nathan's caliber. Nathan is a highly-sought after violin teacher, yet he is only a few clicks away from giving you all the guidance and instruction you'll need to take your violin playing to the next level. For busy violinists and other working professionals alike, Nathan's violin school allows you to submit videos and learn completely at your own pace. The online school also serves as an amazing resource to learn from Nathan's recorded lessons and feedback to other students. Give it a try - highly recommended!"Jason Fong
  • "The type of feedback you receive is very specific and catered to each individual student's needs which is one of the reasons why it's so effective. You get to hear what each excerpt should sound like and Nathan especially makes you aware of what to listen for, giving you a firsthand perspective of what an audition committee wants to hear. The online community is very friendly and constructive and being able to observe the lessons of your colleagues is just as helpful as your own lessons. I find this school to be an invaluable and practical resource for my upcoming auditions!"Jonathan
  • "Nathan is very encouraging and gives very helpful suggestions after he listens to my recording very carefully. His demonstration is fabulous! I can learn how to play from his words and his music! I am very thankful for Nathan and his violin school!"Lipeng
  • "Nathan Cole's violin lessons provides invaluable resources for violinists like me who are preparing for orchestra auditions. It is already amazing to able to see videos and lessons on solo repertoire and basically every orchestral excerpt seen on audition lists, but what makes this program so special is the personal feedback you get from a great violinist and teacher like Nathan through the school's Video Exchange lessons. It hadn't always been possible for me to get expert feedback and find out what the audition committees are looking to hear on each of these difficult excerpts, but the online violin school with Nathan Cole makes that possible at anytime and from anywhere!"Saki
