If the spring runways have taught us anything, it’s that the current iteration of the bohemian trend is more for the gypsetter than the stereotypical patchouli-wearing hippie. This time around, the look combines the glamorous sensibilities of a sophisticated world traveler with the down-to-earth ease of a stylish nomad—think: diaphanous dresses elevated with polished accessories—and the result feels completely fresh for summer. While designer offerings, like the sheer paisley separates at Isabel Marant and floor-length floral dress at Dries van Noten, are fit for a lavish Saint Tropez getaway, it's easy to interpret the urban gypsy trend for all your after-sunset soirees and warm weather weddings too. Keeping the runways in mind, we put together a wearable ensemble to help you get the look now, so read on for more details.

    On The Runway
The look was youthful at Isabel Marant. Studded Sandals ($1035, 323.651.1493) lent an inimitable coolness to bohemian paisleys in the form of a slinky sheer Top ($685, 323.651.1493) and matching Silk-Gauze Mini Skirt ($645). At Etro, the urban gypsy traveled East, outfitted in airy caftans, Indian saris, and a Paisley Printed Jumpsuit ($3096, 212.317.9096) paired with the Black Braided Leather Heels with Ankle Strap ($673, 212.317.9096). Meanwhile, for Dries van Noten’s grunge-meets-couture spring show, the designer layered the flowing Mustard Dree Long Dress ($1925, 312.202.0047) with faded florals over the matching plaid Bordeaux Cori Tank ($555, 312.202.0047) and Panthea Pant ($1205, Bergdorf Goodman stores) for a luxe nomad outcome.

    Our Look
Today’s Runway to Real Way offers a chicer interpretation of the boho trends of yore—there aren't any peasant skirt and cowboy boot combos, like in the early '00s—and can easily be adapted for nights out with the right pieces. To start, you want to pick a dress that has great movement, like AllSaints’ Peony Riviera Dress ($280). The combination of the asymmetrical draping and moody florals give this piece the effortlessly romantic vibe we’re looking for. To polish the ensemble, contrast the dress’ fluid silhouette with BCBGMaxazria’s Lulu Square Stone Clutch ($118) in Aqua and add Mango’s Touch Studded Strap Sandals ($110). Finally, incorporate a touch of earthy glamour with Rachel Rachel Roy’s Feather Earrings ($44) and then give your hair soft, beachy waves to further achieve that gypset vibe. The result will be decidedly urbane, in all the right ways.
